A CHARTER ORDINANCE EXEMPTING THE CITY OF QUINTER, KANSAS FROM CERTAIN PORTIONS OF K.S.A. 15-209.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF QUINTER, KANSAS:

Section 1.  The City of Quinter, is a city of the third class, and by the power vested in it by Article XII, Section 5, of the Constitution of the State of Kansas, hereby elects to exempt and does exempt itself, from, and make inapplicable to it, that portion of K.S.A. 15-209 that [requires the] city attorney shall be a qualified elector of the county in which said city is located or of an adjoining county and in lieu thereof establishes the residency requirements set forth in section 2 below.

Section 2.  The city attorney shall be a qualified elector of the county in which said city is located, an adjoining county, or a community within 70 miles of Quinter, Kansas.
