A CHARTER ORDINANCE EXEMPTING THE CITY OF QUINTER, KANSAS, FROM CERTAIN PORTIONS OF K.S.A. 12-1222 AND SETTING FORTH THE RESIDENCY REQUIREMENTS FOR MEMBERS OF THE BOARD OF THE CITY LIBRARY OF QUINTER, KANSAS.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF QUINTER, KANSAS:

Section l. The City of Quinter, Kansas, is a city of the third class, and by the power vested in it by article XII, Section 5, of the Constitution of the State of Kansas, hereby elects to exempt, and does exempt itself, from, and make inapplicable to it, that portion of K. S. A. 12-1222, which requires that all members if the library board of a municipality to be residents of that municipality and in lieu thereof establishes the residency requirements set forth in section 2 below.

Section 2. All members of the Library Board of the Quinter City Library Board must be residents of the Unified School District #293.

Section 3. Any section of any ordinance contrary to this is hereby repealed.
